Idisan is the old Ibaloi word for the wooden bowl usd by the ancestors for
grinding here in Irisan. The first families of Irisan include Luna, Catalan/ Calatan, Saguid
and Alvarez.
Virginia Luna, once Virginia Pablo, married Felix Luna. She is a rich source of
knowledge when it comes to the History of Irisan. She is the 2nd Barangay Captain of Irisan.
Apugan was the Lime Quarry and the home of the Lime Kilns. Lime was called 'apog' then
therefore they called the place Apugan. The actual first settlers here in Irisan are the Luna
Family. Denesia and Aneng Luna are the first settlers here. They bore a son named Ampin
who was married to Oyang. Luna back then doesn't want to share their bloodline that's why
some Luna married far distant cousins. Virginia Luna and Felix Luna first broke the
tradition.
The influx caused Irisan to be the biggest Barangay and title holder of the
Most Populated barangay.
